Ballot Access

Overview:

The information on this page is as accurate and up-to-date as possible, but it is not the official count from the Hoefling campaign. It is, however, generally correct. Obviously it will not be perfect. If you see an inaccuracy or something that seems unlikely, leave a comment and we will look into it and, hopefully, correct any mistakes.

Tom Hoefling will not be on the ballot in most states, but will be a qualified write-in in a number of others. In states in which he is on the ballot voting for him is simple - just vote for him as you would any other candidate. In states in which he is not on the ballot, which will be the majority, he can be written in if state election code allows write-in candidates. In these cases remember to write-in Tom Hoefling - spelling is important - for president and Jonathan D. Ellis for vice president. The addition of New York increased the number of possible electoral votes to 292 (and the total has risen from there), which is greater than the 270 required to win outright; the final number available is 401 EV, or 75% of the total. Whether or not Tom Hoefling is on the ballot, make sure to vote for principled candidates on the remainder of the ballot as well, not just at the top.

  1. I'm afraid I don't follow. Come again?

  2. If you want to vote for a 9th grade drop out who is only on 3 ballots, knock yourself out. It's a wasted vote.

    1. Interesting. I would maintain that no vote is so wasted as one cast for a candidate who does not represent you.

  3. At least the "9th grade drop out" seems to be able to read and comprehend the U.S. Constitution, which is more than can be said for Barack Obama or Mitt Romney, with all their high falutin' education.

    Tom Hoefling for President 2012

As of right now we have about 62% of the electoral vote covered. There are still 6 states we're working on, which make up about 10% of the electors. In other words, if we finish this task completely, it is still possible that the voters representing right at 72% of the electoral vote can support Tom Hoefling for President in 2012. Not too shabby for a 100% grassroots effort. Thanks to all of the great volunteers who have worked so hard to make this possible!
